This week we are continuing work on our science projects.  Today we worked on writing our information down, tomorrow we will be typing it out to display on our science board.

We also worked on creating a mini poster and presenting it in pairs during math.  There were addition and subtraction problems.  Pairs got to choose how they were going to solve the problem, show their work and then share it with the class.  Some teams made errors and had to redo their work, answer or presentation.  Others were successful in their math as well as presentations.

These are our Lima Beans we planted.  When they sprout they will be transferred.  Over the course of the germination process we will observe make predictions based on a plants life cycle.  We are studying life cycles or plants and animals in our Listening and Learning unit.

It is a really fun learning time in our classroom!

We will not have regular centers this week.  Our afternoons will have our second Listening and Learning as we are finishing up our unit on the War of 1812 and beginning our unit on Cycles of Nature which will explore animal, plant and seasonal cycles as well as what makes a day/night.  We will be planting seeds for observations and doing a science experiment on Friday.

Thank you to all for helping us raise $170 to donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as well as sell 57 See's candy products for our HASC.  WE did a great job!

Please remind your child that we need to follow the directions on the homework-if it asks for anything besides "Mental Math" then they need to show their work or it is considered incomplete and wrong.  This is preparing them for the SBAC test next year as well as how to find where we made the mistakes and how to fix them.
