Wild Animals and Covered Wagons

The photos above our from our visit with YSI Vasona.  The Youth Science Institute has many animals and brought some to us so we could learn from them.  The chinchilla was by far the cutest and the tarantula was one of the scariest for our students.   This was possible to our partnership with the San Jose Museum of Art.  Mr. B., our art teacher, was there and was very impressed with how much knowledge our children had on amphibians, mammals, reptiles and environments.  I, of course was beaming proud!

Below, are some of our covered wagons made from construction paper, cardboard, tissue paper and sticks.  We created some horses, oxen, people, and goods from clay and the students had to engineer methods to attach them to the wagon.  Some use pipe cleaners while other used stir sticks and straws. They are adorable and will be on display during our Open House.
